The Finnall Web Page

Last Updated: 23 June 2006

I would like to thank the many contributors to this page.  Most especially Laurie Nesbitt who is responsible for my interest in genealogy to begin with.   The information here has been provided by many individuals.  Some have worked for a great many years to gather the limited information together.  They have freely shared their information with me and I offer my sincerest gratitude of thanks to each of them.

Brief history:  The Finnall family line has been traced back into the 1700's to Jonathan Finnall, died 1792.  Currently, we do not have any information that precedes Jonathan Finnall.  Anybody that can provide any  possible lead to the ancestory of Jonathan Finnall please contact me.  This page is being provided for the benefit of all the family that would have any interest in our family heritage.  I am sure that there a great many Finnall descendants throughout the United States that probably do not even have the surname of Finnall.  But do have in the family a Finnall ancestor that little or no information may even be known.  According to the information available, the Finnall family was located in Virginia and Maryland in the surrounding area of the Potomac during the time of the birth of our nation, the United States of America.  There were also Finnall settlers that departed and settled in the state of California as early as 1851, at the time that California became a state in 1850.  Being a part of the settlement of that great state as well. Records have been located that also indicate a Finnall family line in East Baton Rouge, Louisiana in the early 1800's very soon after their statehood as well in 1812.

Listed below are several links to other pages that include family information regarding the individuals listed.  Click on the name desired and the page should be displayed.   Each family member listed should have an associated link to provide additional information regarding that individual, if available.  The pages are small and designed to load fairly fast.  You may choose the "Home Page" link to to return to this page.

Another section further below includes links to other sites that may provide additional information.  There is also a page describing records of  names that have been located but other information is not known.  Please visit this page and see if you can provide any additional information regarding the records of these descendants.

There have been many Finnall family members that have gone on before us.  Each of them had an eternal soul, just as each of us that are in the world today.  They had a choice to make within their lifetime.  Every one of us will choose during our life in this world, eternal life or eternal death.  There will be a great family reunion.   Have you decided to be there, or just not decided at all?  No decision   is a "NO" decision.  There is only one unpardonable sin, blasphemy against the Holy Ghost. That is  to reject the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, our risen Saviour.  Each of us are born condemned and must accept the forgiveness of God through His Son Jesus by faith.  That one day, we too will join that great family reunion.

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph 2:6-9
